Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic National Sales Director to lead and expand our retail sales operations across the country. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in CPG sales, strong leadership skills, and a passion for driving growth. This role will be critical in achieving our ambitious sales targets and establishing Little Sesame as a market leader in the hummus category.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Leadership

Develop and implement comprehensive national sales strategies to achieve revenue growth and expand market share; build channel strategy across natural, club, mass & conventional

Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities and potential challenges, and adjust strategies accordingly.

Set annual, quarterly, and monthly sales targets and develop plans to achieve these goals.

Recruit and onboard new sales team members as needed to support company growth.
Broker Relationship Management

Develop and maintain strong relationships with sales brokers to enhance market penetration and coverage.

Provide guidance and strategic direction to brokers, ensuring alignment with Little Sesame’s sales goals and objectives.

Set clear KPIs for broker performance, regularly review their progress, and provide feedback and support to achieve desired outcomes.

Conduct regular training sessions and updates for brokers to keep them informed about product changes, promotional strategies, and market trends.
Market Analysis

Conduct regular sales data analysis to shape selling story; track productivity vs category, opportunity gaps in the category etc

Prepare sales decks for brokers and retail partners

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to stay informed about industry developments and opportunities for sales

Prepare and present monthly reports to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
Sales Operations
- Implement and maintain sales processes, tools, and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness; integrate streamlined CRM
- Build and customize all sales decks, and leverage up-to-date data to inform sales story; maintain all other generic sales assets
- Develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve sales objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of sales operations, including demand forecasting in coordination with operations team
Collaborative Leadership
- Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align sales efforts with overall company objectives and ensure a cohesive go-to-market strategy.
- Provide input on product development and innovation based on market feedback and sales performance.
- Coordinate with the growth and marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns and events that support sales goals.
Brand Ambassador
- Represent Little Sesame at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, building strong relationships with industry stakeholders and promoting the brand.
- Ensure that the brand's values and mission are consistently communicated and upheld in all sales activities.

Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve products and services.
Qualifications
- 5+ years relevant experience in retail sales, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Experience in managing national sales teams or large accounts.
- Strong leadership capabilities to motivate and guide a sales team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills for market analysis and sales forecasting.
- Proficiency in CRM software and data analysis tools (SPINS & Nielsen)
- Good understanding of the CPG market, particularly in the better-for-you sector.
- Strong knowledge and familiarity with retail and distribution channels.
- Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with company goals.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapting to market changes.
