It All Starts on Our Farms

In 2024, we sourced over 350,000 pounds of regeneratively farmed organic chickpeas from dedicated farmers under the big sky in Montana. These growers skip synthetic chemicals and instead use cover crops and crop rotations to build rich, healthy soil. Thanks to this approach, we are actively preserving 1,500 acres of farmland under regenerative management—and we’re just getting started! Our goal? 10,000 acres by 2027.

The USDA Doubled Down!

Big news! The USDA awarded Little Sesame an Organic Market Development Grant to help more organic chickpea farmers across Montana and the Great Plains. This means more farmers can transition away from chemical-heavy wheat farming and into organic crop rotations with high-value cash crops like chickpeas. Healthier soil, healthier ecosystems, happier farmers and better food for everyone! 

More Food, Less Waste.

We hate waste—so in 2024, we gave 400,000+ pounds of "seconds" lemons a second chance in our hummus! These are perfectly good (but funny looking!) lemons would have been tossed because they didn’t meet strict retail standards. And that’s not all—we also launched a preserved lemon flavor that upcycles thousands of pounds of lemon rinds, cutting down on food waste even more. Win-win!

Our 10,000-square-foot production facility just outside of Washington, DC just got a serious upgrade—solar panels! By embracing renewable energy, we’re reducing our carbon footprint and cutting our reliance on fossil fuels. Cleaner energy means a healthier environment, and we’re all about making food that’s good for you and good for the planet.

We Got the Honors to Prove It!

Drumroll, please... In 2024, Little Sesame became the first and only hummus brand to earn both Clean Label and Glyphosate Residue Free Certifications. That means our hummus has been lab-tested and proven free of harmful metals, pesticides, and toxic chemicals. No glyphosate, no arsenic, no worries. Just clean, delicious hummus you can trust!
