FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How did Little Sesame Start?
Little Sesame began as a pop-up in a 500 sq ft basement in Washington D.C. in the winter of 2016 by chefs and collaborators Nick Wiseman and Ronen Tenne. The duo met as cooks on the fine dining circuit in NYC nearly ten years before.
I’m hungry; where can I get Little Sesame?
You can find our freshly spun hummus at our flagship shop in Washington DC, plus Sprouts, Whole Foods Markets, Erewhon, Foxtrot, MOMS Organic and other select retailers. Find the full list on the Find Our Hummus page.
What's your animal welfare policy?
We take sourcing seriously, especially when it comes to meat, dairy and eggs. Our chickens are fed a high-quality diet, humanely handled, and never given antibiotics, hormones, or animal by-products. We only serve beef during the winter when local vegetables are sparse. Our beef is always from grass fed cows that are raised with strict land and water management standards. Our eggs are certified humane. They are raised free range, always cage free with access to the outdoors by a cooperative of family farms.
Is your shop certified kosher or halal?
No.
Where is your hummus made?
It's freshly spun in small batches in our own facility located just outside of Washington, D.C.
How long does your hummus last?
Ninety days if the container remains refrigerated unopened. Once opened we recommend enjoying it within 7 days, but no judgement if you eat a whole container in one seating.
Is your hummus vegan and gluten-free?
Yes and yes!
What about allergens?
Our hummus is free from all FDA recognized food allergens including peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, dairy, eggs, and shellfish.
Do you ship?
Not yet, but soon..
Can I join the team?
